Dyemansion enables smooth surfacing on 3D printed polypropylene parts

3D print postprocessing company and PLM Group partner DyeMansion has launched a new Powerfuse S model to smooth 3D printed polypropylene. The Powerfuse S PP is the first ever green vapor polishing solution for highly industrial manufacturing and surface improvements beyond aesthetics to smooth 3D printed PP.

The first Powerfuse S model works with all common rigid and flexible materials on the market such as PA, TPU, ULTEM and more. But the new Powerfuse S PP is dedicated for the processing of for 3D printed polypropylene parts.

This new machine enables more application possibilities with the use of polypropylene in additive manufacturing industries such as automotive, medical & chemical tech, consumer goods & prototyping.

Biodegradable fluid for 3D printed polypropylene parts

The sustainable VaporFuse VF44 EcoFluid PP is 100% bio-based and readily biodegradable as well as non-toxic. This means no PFAS, non-CMR and non-vPvM/PMT. Furthermore, users can enjoy unbeatable cost per part at full production capacity with the Powerfuse S PP due to the high degree of automation and closed loop circulation with integrated solvent recovery.

Polypropylene is one of the most widely produced plastic globally with advantages due to price, toughness and ductility, as well as chemical resistance. With their new Powerfuse S model, DyeMansion ensures that there is an end-to-end solution for the industrial processing of polypropylene and positions themselves as the go-to-market partner for PP in the additive manufacturing industry.

DyeMansion’s new Powerfuse S PP solution has been validated together with all technology providers for PP already, including Stratasys, HP, BASF, EOS, ALM, Prodways, AM Polymers, Covestro and more.

About polypropylene in 3D printing

Polypropylene, PP, is a semi-rigid and lightweight material. It is traditionally used in storage and packaging applications. PP is considered tough and has a good fatigue resistance, which makes it ideal for low strength applications, such as living hinges, straps, leashes, and more. There are a few 3D printer and 3D print material manufacturers on the market that have created PP blends with improved toughness.
