PLM Group goes BIG on 3D printing

PLM Group and the Swedish 3D printer developer BLB Industries are entering a partnership, meaning PLM Group will become a reseller of BLB Industries’ large size 3D printing solutions in the Nordics and Baltics.

Värnamo based BLB Industries develops extruder based 3D printers with very large build sizes, up to six cubic metres and has developed a unique extrusion system using granulated plastics, that allow for super fast print speeds.

BLB Industries was established in 2015 with the aim of supplying big, advanced 3D printers for industrial applications. The company manufactures standard machines but can also design and customise machines to the customer’s individual requirements.   Standard machines delivering build volumes ranging from 1500 x 1000 x 1000 mm up to 2000 x 2000 x 1500 mm allow items to be manufactured for many industrial applications.

The 3D printers use granule extrusion and high-quality linear systems allow extremely rapid printing. Print volumes range from 250 g/h to over 30 kg/h. The volume depends on the type of thermoplastic as well as the nozzle and extruder size selected. Using granules also means a wide variety in materials. The company can also develop bespoke granules for customers.

“PLM Group is very excited to work with BLB Industries, as their solutions breaks the limitations of speed and build size for additive manufacturing”, says Gøran Jenssen, Business Area Manager 3D Printing, PLM Group. “We are also very happy to have BLB as our first Nordic supplier in our machinery portfolio.”

“We see some of the best ROIs showcased in the world today are on big parts. In combinations with high flexibility in materials, we believe that we will find many opportunities with BLB Industries to make companies more competitive. Even applications that would not normally be sustainable or possible on other subtractive or additive processes will see the way into the market.”

“Here at BLB Industries, we are proud to announce PLM Group as our reseller in the Nordics and Baltics”, says Stefan Ek, CEO, BLB Industries. “PLM Group has a great organisation and setup in the region, which has a great reputation and long experience supporting customers with high performance solutions for additive manufacturing, Our large industrial printers will be a great addition to PLM’s product portfolio and we look forward to develop large scale 3D printing together.”
